“A leader is an influencer, nothing more nothing less.”
— John Maxwell
We are all leaders as we are influencers of others. But, more importantly, we are also Care Leaders—leaders who shepherd and care for the hearts of God’s people.
——
God’s Kingdom is a kingdom of the heart. Unfortunately, we find that this area is outside the comfort zone of many leaders. And so, they steer clear of it.
Most leaders spend 90% or more of their time on the “smart stuff” they were trained to do. Many of them are not trained in this area of “care” and are not comfortable spending time here. It feels soft or touchy-feely and they would rather just get back to what they were trained to do!
Leaders need to remember that even though this talk of “wellbeing” feels soft and uncomfortable, it is the healthy stuff that drives the smart stuff. This truly is the ticket for competitive advantage.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23
THROUGH COACHING
ENGAGING INDIVIDUALs
Before we can begin to care for others, we need to consider our own personal health. Self-care is the first step toward helping others.
Even leaders get “stuck” sometimes, and life can feel overwhelming. Through engaging in my “personal ministry sessions” we can together discover practical steps for you to take to find the path forward and find lasting change. I want to show you the compassion and care that Christ showed me…care that is full of both grace and truth.
